It’s no secret that efficiency and organization are crucial to the everyday success of Denver public relations professionals.
Public Relations is a fast paced industry. We are expected to think on our feet and meet tight deadlines, all while monitoring media trends and staying prepared for a potential crisis. Add to that the everyday need to balance managing client accounts, attending meetings and developing media pitches. And when everything’s said and done, let’s not forget taking time to enjoy our beautiful Colorado outdoors.
That’s why finding tools to help us manage our time and improve our productivity is so important. Luckily, there’s an App for that. Not just one, but hundreds.
With our laptops, tablets, and smartphones at the ready, technology can help us dive into action and be better PR pros. Below are just some of the applications and tools that Denver public relations firms can leverage to deliver rock solid results for our clients.
Evernote: From creating to-do lists, jotting down a reminder or snapping a picture, Evernote is extra memory for any computer. I love the ability to easily take snapshots of my screen with Evernote’s Web Clipper. You can then make edits, add arrows, or add notes to the image. If you want a note to be more public, you can share a note with co-workers or send them to your email. Evernote makes it easy to search for a note with key terms or topics based upon the content in your notes. Like Google Drive, Evernote is accessible anywhere and a great tool to have on hand.
Buffer + Pablo: Want to post to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and LinkedIn all at once? This is the App for you. With Buffer anyone can schedule social media posts for multiple platforms. Not to mention, Buffer provides some light analytics for your post. Missing great image content for your social media? Pablo, an image editor extension of Buffer, has you covered. Now scheduling social media posts and creating great image content is in one location. Even if you aren’t a Photoshop wizard, Pablo is easy to use.
Flipboard: If you want to follow trusted news sources or blogs beyond social media platforms, Flipboard is the way to go. This app allows you to create dashboards based on your interests and the kind of content you are able to read. On the homepage, you’ll have trending news from sources you follow or your interests, with the added option to save information for later. Yet unlike any other news feed, Flipboard presents information to you in a social magazine style, which is both captivating and fun to read.
Pocket: Ever wish you had a pocket to save interesting articles in? Pocket is your save-for-later app. From videos to photos, to articles or anything else that’s noteworthy, you can put it into Pocket. You can save something directly from your browser or Twitter, Flipboard, Pulse, and more. This app is integrated in over 1,500 other apps so there is no shortage of being able to save things for later. For PR pros who need to monitor trends, Pocket is a great way to keep those references handy.
Google Drive:Similar to Apple’s iCloud functions, Google Drive keeps everything in one place. It’s a great way to store photos and videos, create documents you can share with coworkers, or, create presentations. With a similar feel to Microsoft Office, Google sheets, docs, and slides make Google Drive comfortable and familiar to use. Best of all, you never have to worry about losing any content. Google drive regularly saves it all. This is a great tool to help you stay organized when juggling multiple client accounts.
